be still
wiser,Teach a righteous man and he will increase his
learning.

What it means to have faith |
 |
 |
Hebrews 11 |
Now faith is being sure of what we hope
for and certain of what we do not see." -- Hebrews 11:1.
It sounds like a contradiction, but the Bible teaches
that faith is visualizing the future in the present.
It's being sure of what you don't see – It is seeing it
in advance. Man says: "Seeing is believing." God says:
"Believing is seeing." |

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you,
brothers, 2not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by
some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come
from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already
come.

LOVE - We are a
family of believers who accept each other because God
has accepted each of us.
"We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of
the weak and not to please ourselves...Accept one
another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to
bring praise to God." Ro. 15:1,7
BIBLE - The Bible is
inspired and is the final authority in life and
doctrine. The Bible reveals one true God existing as
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each possessing the
attributes of the deity.
"All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for
teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly
equipped for every good work." 2 Ti. 3:16-17
GRACE - Salvation is
a free gift of God. The only sufficient payment for our
sins is the death of Christ as our substitute. No one is
saved by his own merits or good deeds.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith
-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God
-- not by works, so that no one can boast." Ep. 2:8-9
RESPONSE - It is
necessary to respond to God's free offer of salvation by
faith, repentance, and baptism. As we confess Christ as
our Lord and are baptized by immersion, God meets us,
forgives our sins, and gives us the gift of the Holy
Spirit.
"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of
you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of
your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy
Spirit.' " Acts. 2:38
WORSHIP - God has
delivered us from sin and called us to be a people of
worship. Through our daily living and our Lord's Day
(Sunday) assemblies, we give God praise for His
delivering us from sin.
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's
mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy
and pleasing to God -- this is your spiritual act of
worship." Ro, 12:1
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare
the praised of him who called you out of darkness into
his wonderful light." 1 Pe. 2:9
"Whoever claims to live in him
must walk as Jesus did." 1 John 2:6

“The
Power of a Father’s Blessing” in CHRISTIANITY TODAY, our
country’s biggest problem is the lack of a father’s
blessing. Giving blessings to our children is one of the
most crucial actions a father can do to let his children
hear and feel his unconditional love, which mirrors the
love of our heavenly Father. This love-no-matter-what is
a legacy of solid emotional growth for a man’s children. |
